What is POSM?
POS stands for Point of Sale. POSM are all the Point of Sale marketing materials used to sell and showcase your products or services.
What types of POS Materials are there?
Some of the most common POS materials are the following:
- Displays (floor, counter)
- Shelf Marketing Tools
- Lightboxes
- Vinyls
- Security Gate Covers
Among others.
Displays and their different types
POS displays are structures that function as permanent or temporary furniture in commercial spaces, with the goal of increasing the sales of a product or service.
We can classify them according to the materials used for their manufacture, the purpose, or their position.
Displays depending on materials
What is your POS material made of? There are three main categories: permanent displays, temporary displays and eco-friendly displays.
Permanent Displays
If your POS material is made of metal, plastic, wood or its derivatives, we can classify it as a permanent display.
Permanent displays offer a durable solution that effectively organizes and highlights products. Unlike temporary displays, they are designed to be an integral part of the commercial space, enhancing the shopping experience with their robust structure suitable for various products.
Investment in permanent displays benefits the durability and aesthetics of the furniture, as well as strengthens the brand image through consistent and professional presentation. Their customized designs adapt to the specific needs of the business, boosting merchandising strategy and significantly improving the customer shopping experience.
Temporary Displays
If your POS material is made of a material that doesn't last long, such as cardboard, we can classify it as a temporary display.
Eco-friendly Displays
If the material used is MDF wood (medium-density fibreboard), then we can classify it as an eco-friendly display.
Notice that not all MDF wood displays are eco-friendly displays.
MDF displays can only be classified as eco-friendly if the inks used to print on them are recyclable, and there are no plastic layers. Euromon PLV's MDF displays are 100% recyclable.

Depending on purpose
What's the reason behind your POSM? There are many reasons why you would go for POS materials — these can be educational, promotional, interactive or branding, among others.
- Educational: Educational POS materials guide customers, enhancing their understanding of products with clear benefits and features, making complex choices simpler.
- Promotional: Promotional POS materials spotlight deals and new products, driving immediate interest and encouraging impulse purchases with strategic placement.
- Interactive: Interactive POS materials offer a hands-on experience, using technology to engage customers and deepen their connection with the product.
- Branding: Branding POS materials strengthen brand identity, creating a visually consistent experience that builds trust and loyalty among consumers.
Depending on position
Where are you going to place your POS material? Depending on where you want to position it, we can categorize the materials as floor stands, counter or table-top displays and shelf materials.
Floor stand displays
A floor stand, also known as a floor display or floor fixture, is a structure designed to showcase products on the floor of a store or exhibition. These displays are especially useful for highlighting products and promotions in high-traffic areas, helping to increase visibility and sales.
Counter top displays
A counter top display, also referred to as a tabletop display or counter stand, is a compact fixture used to exhibit products on a counter or tabletop surface within a store or exhibition. These displays are strategically positioned at checkout areas or other high-traffic locations to capture the attention of customers and promote impulse purchases.
Shelf marketing tools
Shelf marketing tools are essential components of retail strategy, designed to enhance product visibility and sales on store shelves. These tools include shelf talkers, shelf wobblers and shelf banners, among others. They are strategically placed near products to attract the attention of shoppers, provide information about the product's features or promotions, and ultimately influence purchasing decisions.
In short, the strategic choice of point-of-sale positioning — whether through shelf practices that maximize shelf visibility, floor stands that capture attention at floor level or counter displays designed to make the most of counter space — plays a crucial role in the impact and effectiveness of product promotion.
Lightboxes
Illuminated signs are an essential resource in the world of POS displays for capturing attention and creating an immediate visual impact.
These elements, characterized by their ability to light up messages, logos or products, become essential within the communication strategy in commercial spaces.
Within the range of POS illuminated signs, LED neons stand out for their versatility and aesthetic appeal. Unlike traditional neon lights, LED neons offer much lower energy consumption, are more durable, and allow for a greater variety of custom designs.
Vinyls
Vinyls are a fundamental resource in any POS strategy due to their versatility and customization capability.
Used in stores, shop windows and surfaces of all kinds, vinyls allow for the communication of advertising messages, promotions and branding in an attractive and direct way. Their adaptability to different surfaces enables vinyls to be applied on windows, walls, floors and virtually any area within a commercial space.
In addition to their visual appeal, vinyls are also an economical and quick-installation option within POS strategies.
Anti-theft sensor gate covers
A security gate cover is a POS element designed to conceal and protect security alarms in commercial spaces, aesthetically integrating them into the environment without compromising functionality. These devices allow anti-theft systems to be discreetly covered.
Made from durable materials with customized finishes, security gate covers not only protect security devices but also enhance the establishment's image by minimizing visual distractions.
In POS marketing, a well-designed security gate cover combines functionality and style, providing a neat and professional appearance that elevates the customer experience.
